An annual story (it seems), almost a tradition, is the news that Buffalo Sabres forward, Tim Connolly (Chris), has his season ended due to injury. This season, it's a nagging hip injury that will require surgery and will cause him to miss the remainder of the season.
The Sabres are on the outside looking in on the playoff picture and they are hosting the Leafs tonight. Without Connolly, the Sabres will have to look towards some more AHL help, which they are already enlisting quite a few of their prospect defensemen.
Connolly will now finish his season after playing 48 games, where he scored 7 goals and 33 assists for 40 points. His stock is so very low these days because of his injuries, which continue to pile up. You may not believe it, but early in his career, Connolly did manage to play full seasons while he was on Long Island as an Islander. He will be best served as a waiver draft pick up in any sort of draft or he would be a decent player if you had some substitutions on your team and utilize him when he's healthy.
