Earlier on Wednesday, the Senators released their roster for the upcoming rookie tournament that will be hosted by the Maple Leafs, as they will get a look at some players that may or may not have the potential to reach the roster this year (or maybe next). I think there are a few spots open through training camp and these guys will get their first look, trying to earn their way into the big camp, which will open in nine days.

There are a few names that I'll be looking out for, ear-marking them for training camp, possibly giving me some young ammunition for the draft at the end of the month. Up front, I'm looking at Bobby Butler and Jim O'Brien as front-runners, while Mike Hoffman and Kaspers Daugavins bring up the dark horses. I think that there is going to be a spot for Jared Cowen to lose this year in camp and his size should be a definite asset at this tournament. In net, Robin Lehner should be the go-to guy in this tournament, as he is being touted very well by the Senators. If Pascal Leclaire starts to suffer again in 2011, Lehner might just get his shot.
