A player you may want to consider picking up during the season signed on Wednesday morning, as Petr Sykora had a very good camp with the New Jersey Devils and has been rewarded with a new deal to play with his old club. Sykora signed a 1-year deal worth $650,000.
Sykora last played in the NHL in the 2010 season with the Minnesota Wild, where he only scored 2 goals and 1 assist in 14 games with the club and was not very effective for the club. His best season was with the Devils in 2001, where he picked up 81 points in 73 games.
Don't think he'll be able to reach those peaks of scoring again, but as a 34-year old veteran, he should be able to provide some sort of suitable offense for a Devils team that is starting to pick up more and more offensive tools.
