The Nashville Predators were without one of their leading scorers from last season, Martin Erat, on Saturday night against the Blue Jackets, as the Czech winger was reportedly dealing with an upper-body injury. The coaching staff for the Predators have assured the media that this injury is not related to the back problems he was dealing with in recent memory, but they could not confirm what the severity of the injury actually is at the moment.
The team will re-evaluate Erat on Monday and will likely provide an update to his status then, but for now, we'll have to consider him out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
In the opening game of the season, Erat was held pointless and was a -2 in the game.
Not good news for Chris M., who selected Erat in the draft this year. Erat was a 9th round selection in the pool, 187th overall. HIs 50 points with the Predators had him ranked 120th overall in pool scoring, so there is a slight discount being taken with him, expecting to get some good bargain points out of him.
