Habs Injury Update

The Canadiens win against the WInnipeg Jets on Sunday night was ultimately quite expensive for the side, as they had lost both Mike Cammalleri and Jaroslav Spacek to injuries. On Tuesday afternoon, word came down on what the team expects to lose out on from both players.

Cammalleri is expected to miss the next two weeks with his leg laceration, which would schedule him back for for Tuesday, the 26th, when the Habs play host to the Philadelphia Flyers.  In the first two games of the season, Cammalleri has 1 goal in his totals.

Spacek, on the other hand, suffered an upper-body injury, which will keep him out of the line-up for 2-to-3 weeks, which could also possibly see him back for the Flyers game, but it would be more likely that he would be back for the 29th against the Bruins or November 4th in Ottawa.  In two games, Spacek hasn't recorded a point yet.

ImplicationsCammalleri is a big loss in the draft, as Stacey C. will now miss out on a number of key games in the early part of the season, where no team wants to get left behind too early.  After Tuesday night's action, Stacey sits in 17th spot, already 16 points out of 1st place and now losing out on his 5th round pick will likely hurt him in the short-term.
