Blues' Injury Woes Continue

The St. Louis Blues updated the health status of a number of players, including a couple of hockey pool players (for now!) on Monday, just ahead of the 5pm MT puck drop deadline of the bonus round in the Waiver Draft.

First up on the list is defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, who we had down as suffering an upper-body injury over the weekend and that has been confirmed to be a hand injury and there is still a chance that surgery is required on it, so his immediate timeline is about four weeks from the injury, just after Christmas or so, before they have a look at it and if surgery is required, it could be longer.

Forward Alex Steen is under the league's concussion protocol, confirming today what his upper-body injury is and he is currently listed as day-to-day by the team.

Another forward on the list, Jaden Schwartz, has been on the shelf since the middle of November with an upper-body injury and that was confirmed to be a hand injury as well.  Schwartz is now considered to be day-to-day as well, certainly not quite as serious of a hand injury as Pietrangelo's is.

All three players appear on hockey pool rosters and all three are eligible to be dropped before the 5pm MT deadline today, to which Tony, Stacey C. and Wes all have that ability to do so, but Tony's is the most serious and may be taken care of, if he can find a suitable replacement on the list.
