Morning Player Notes (Dec 4)

The Edmonton Oilers started off their second segment of the season without their captain for their Monday night game against the Dallas Stars, as Connor McDavid was under the weather and deemed unable to play.  He's day-to-day and should be good to go on Wednesday night, when the Oilers visit the Blues.

Tony has been keeping his team up on the blog with the Waiver Draft of late, making some positive changes, but a negative like this shouldn't get him down too much, although no one wants to miss a game with one of the league's best players.  McDavid went into the second segment ranked 6th in scoring in the pool, with 14 goals and 35 points in 26 games.

It sounds like Jesper Bratt of the New Jersey Devils felt the flu bug come on as well, ahead of tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, as he's now day-to-day with an illness and was unable to play last night.  Bratt has had a muted start to the season, with an early injury just as the season got started, it kept him out a while and now another game on the shelf with a cold doesn't help much.  He does have 2 goals and 9 points in 12 games this year, so his scoring rate is certainly worth keeping around.

Jeremy did just that through the Waiver Draft, opting to only make one move last week and keep his team together for the most part.  His team started the second segment at the equator of the standings, still well within reach of the money this year.
