Morning Player Notes (Dec 6)

The Carolina Hurricanes lost the services of forward Jordan Staal in their game against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night, leaving the game with an upper-body injury and not to return.  Staal left the game in the 3rd period, but since then, there hasn't been much in the way of updates from the team.  If it is anything greater than a day-to-day issue, then we'll get it up here on the blog, but for now, we won't consider it too concerning.

Troy's team lost 1st place last night to Stuart again, but only by the virtue of the tie-breakers.  Troy's side doesn't quite have the goal-scoring numbers that Stuart's has, but it's still putting up points.  Staal has 11 points in 27 games this season, so he isn't the biggest contributor to Troy's totals, but he has chipped in and this loss could sting a little bit.
