Golden Knights Shelve Pacioretty

On Wednesday, the Vegas Golden Knights placed forward Max Pacioretty on the Injured Reserve, as he is dealing with a lower-body injury.  It has been reported that the veteran scoring forward was injured on Monday, when they faced the Blue Jackets and now his placement ensures that he won't be back in the lineup until after the Christmas break, at the earliest.

The Golden Knights still have three games to play this week, before the break, so it will be a tough time to miss a chunk of the schedule, but the team did call up Brandon Pirri before the roster freeze, so they should be okay without him for now.

As of Thursday morning, Pacioretty has 10 goals and 19 points in 30 games this season, well off the projected pace we had him at on the blog this year, so it hasn't exactly been the best of seasons, so far, and some injury flare ups have certainly attributed to that, having already missed six games.  He currently ranks 171st in hockey pool scoring and he'll likely drop some with a busy weekend ahead.

Stuart took Pacioretty with the 114th overall pick in the draft, middle of the 5th round, so his return hasn't been as good as his draft selection would have expected either.  Nevertheless, Stuart's team has been managing just fine, still up in 2nd place after Wednesday night's action and with plenty of games still to be played this week.
