Goalie Announcements (Dec 21)

It's a short, yet sweet schedule on the last Friday before the holiday break.  Only three games on the docket and a few points to be had from the crease tonight.

It doesn't appear that we'll have any teams that are vying for the Mover & Shaker this week in the schedule for tonight, as it looks like Neil's team is tops in the weekly scoring among the five teams that have a goalie going tonight.  Mike's team has 18 points this week, 8 points behind the leader, Stacey M., so there's that.  A couple shutouts away isn't all that close.

I guess we'll have to concentrate on the Basement Dweller spot in this post, just to liven everything up.

Craig Anderson (Mike) versus Keith Kinkaid (Neil)
Mike's team is a couple of shutouts away from the top, sure, but more importantly, his team is 14 points clear of the bottom of the weekly table, so I'm thinking his team is already safe, but getting a Craig Anderson start from the Senators could certainly help.  On the other side, Neil's team is also doing okay, 14 points this week, 10 clear of the bottom, but he could move closer to Mike's team with a win from Keith Kinkaid and the Devils, which could make things more interesting.

Carter Hutton (Wes) versus Braden Holtby (Stacey C.)
Stacey C. now holds the position of the Basement Dweller this week and his team is 3 points back of his nearest competitor, so he'll need a bagel from Braden Holtby and the Capitals to climb back to a spot where he can at least see the doorway to get out.  Of course, the Buffalo Sabres are not the league's pushovers anymore and Carter Hutton has been playing pretty well this season for Wes' team, so don't count your chickens.  Wes' team is at 12 points this week, 8 points clear of Stacey's team and probably wouldn't mind putting a couple more between them.

Collin Delia (N/A) versus Philipp Grubauer (Jesse)
Finally, in Colorado tonight, the traveling Blackhawks are playing the second half of back-to-backs tonight against the Avalanche, so they'll be sending non-pool goalie Collin Delia out to make his first start of the season.  Jesse, who has the team that resides just above Stacey's in the weekly standings, gets a backup start from Philipp Grubauer, since the team is in Arizona for Saturday night's game.  The Blackhawks are coming off of a win in Dallas last night, so the Avalanche may need to be on point to get the 2 points for Jesse tonight.
