New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk may be facing a lengthy layoff again after leaving last night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after suffering an upper-body injury, believed to be a shoulder issue, in the 2nd period. There were no immediate updates on his condition on Tuesday morning, but fortunately for the Rangers, they don't play again until Friday night, so there is a little bit of extra time for testing, just to be sure about what they're dealing with. We should expect some more news in the next day or two, if it is indeed serious.
Shattenkirk has been disappointing this season, with only 1 goal and 8 points in 29 games, he is Mike's worst defenseman of the four on his team and is certainly holding the foursome back from being the strongest in the hockey pool this season, so for now, it'll have to settle for being 2nd in pool scoring.
