Preds Lose Forsberg for Weeks

The Central Division-leading Nashville Predators announced on Saturday afternoon that they had placed forward Filip Forsberg on the Injured Reserve with an upper-body injury, believed to be to one of his hands.  The timetable given for his return is in the 4-to-6 weeks range, which if it is a hand injury, one would think it's a broken bone of sorts.

Forsberg has definitely been quite good already this season, fashioning 14 goals and 22 points in 26 games already this year, which even after Saturday night's action (which he didn't appear in), he ranks 67th overall in the hockey pool scoring list, suggesting that he would be a solid 3rd round pick, if we were to do it all again.

Now the question is of Brian's team, is it worth a bonus round swap to get him out and get someone who can get points in there for the second segment?  Brian's team sits in 11th place, 26 points out of 3rd place and new players are going live across the pool.  If it is only four weeks on the shelf, Brian's team would certainly suffer, but might be able to manage and if it's six weeks or more, then it really starts to add up.  The top player available has 16 points right now, it just makes for an interesting thought.

Brian has until puck drop on Monday to decide one way or the other what to do.
