Morning Player Notes (Dec 9)

Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk was ruled out of this weekend's action, missing last night against Toronto and expected to miss tonight in Ottawa, as he has been deemed physically unwell.  DeBrusk was hit in the head with a puck a couple of weeks ago and things have reportedly been going downhill for him and he's feeling not well enough to go.  There's a level of suspicion surrounding this injury issue, as it sounds like a head injury of sorts, but we'll keep an eye on this one in Boston.

Stacey M.'s team has been solid this week, picking up 30 points through Saturday night's action and even with DeBrusk on the shelf, her team leads the projected number of games to be played on Sunday as well.  Her 3rd place team is looking for more before the end of the week and could possibly find it.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Sean Couturier was a late scratch of Saturday afternoon's tilt against the Buffalo Sabres, citing a lower-body injury as the reason for his absence.  The Flyers are considering him to be day-to-day for now, but that's as far as the updates have come.  The Flyers did well without him on Saturday, winning 6-2, so they probably won't rush any kind of injury, but you know they'll miss him eventually.

Couturier is on the pool's top team, belonging to Troy, and he has been good this season, picking up 10 goals and 20 points in 26 games, a very good contributor to his side.  If there is any long-term implications here, that could really hinder Troy's team from keeping the pace moving forward.
