Noon Player Notes (Dec 30)

An upper-body injury kept Boston forward Brad Marchand out of the lineup on Saturday night against the Sabres and there are some question marks as to whether or not he will be available for the Winter Classic on Tuesday.  The team hasn't ruled him out, by any means right now, but there is definitely some concern.  He's listed as out day-to-day and that's about all we know.

Stuart's team is hanging on to that top spot in the overall standings, but just barely.  His team leads the pool in goals scored, so that has helped it take the tie-breaker at the top with Grant's team this week, but it's tight up there.  Missing out on Marchand games could really hurt his team down the stretch.

Nashville Predators forward Kyle Turris was out of the lineup on Saturday for the game against the Rangers, as he is dealing with a lower-body injury.  There are reports out there that say he was seen in a walking boot in the arena, but that could mean just about anything from a precautionary measure to some broken bones.  There was no indication about when he suffered the injury and there's no confirmations about the injury, so he's currently day-to-day with the issue.

This is more bad luck for Jeremy's team, as his forwards have really let him down this season.  They rank 19th in the pool in games played and 22nd in points this season, which has dropped his team down to 19th overall.  If it wasn't for his defense, his team would likely be hooped completely.

The unofficial scratch count for Vancouver defenseman Michael Del Zotto is now up to 19 games, which now includes Saturday night's game against the Calgary Flames.  With Troy Stecher returning to the lineup last night, Del Zotto was again up in the press box as a healthy scratch and his participation this season has really been limited.  At the midway point of the Vancouver season, Del Zotto has played in 22 games, registering 1 goal and 4 points.

It was too bad for John P. at the Waiver Draft, that he had too many more pressing issues with his roster, that he couldn't dump Del Zotto at the time.  The blueline for John's team hasn't been too bad, despite the scratches, ranking 12th in the pool with 60 points.
