A fight has now cost Detroit Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha a good stretch on the Injured Reserve, as the team announced on Tuesday that the forward is expected to miss the next 4-to-6 weeks after he undergoes surgery to repair his hand. Mantha fought Colorado's Patrik Nemeth on the weekend and clearly got the worst of it.
Mantha has been okay, when it comes to his production this season and he'll certainly leave a hole in the lineup for Detroit, now that he'll be gone for a while. In 27 games played, he has 9 goals and 14 points, which has him ranked around the top 200 in hockey pool scoring, so he has certainly been worthy this season.
Kristy & Don will certainly miss him, as they also missed out on switching him out by a few days in the Waiver Draft. This is some terrible luck, to say the least. Their team is off to a good start this week, already posting 10 points through the first couple nights of the week, still sitting 5th, but 8 points out of 1st place.
