On Thursday morning, the Bruins acquired Alex Auld (non-pool) from the Coyotes for Nate DiCasmirro (non-pool) and a 5th round pick in 2009.
This looks like a knee-jerk reaction to the loss of Tim Thomas (Don), who they had lost the night previous. Since Auld isn't a big player in the pool, this isn't the biggest of news, but maybe the larger scheme of things could be that Thomas is out for a long period of time. Auld should be in Boston in time to back-up Tuukka Rask (non-pool) tonight against Montreal.
Will Week Twenty feature a Boston goalie going early in the Waiver Draft?
