Lupul Makes His Case

I can hear all the Oiler fans screaming to themselves as they read the scoring summary in the paper or on the internet... "Why didn't he score six points in a game for us?!?"

It looks like we have a new fad in the league, which is taking some games by storm. It's the second time in three nights we've had a player have a hat trick and 3 assists in a game. It happened in the Penguins/Flyers game... and believe it or not... it wasn't Sidney Crosby (Benson). Joffrey Lupul (Don) accomplished the feat and made the Waiver Draft drop of Patrick Marleau (ex-Don) look like a bloody genius move.

Lupul now has a padded lead of sorts for the Player of the Week honours already... and it's only Wednesday morning. The Flyers still have 3 games left this week and if the entire line remains on this torrid pace, we should see some astronomical numbers by the end of the week. Philly is home to the Canadiens on Thursday, home to the Hurricanes on Saturday and then away to New Jersey on Sunday. That's an action packed week.
