The Hurricanes left Miami for Tampa Bay last night with the loss of not only the game (5-4), but also with the loss of one of their wingers, Justin Williams (Ryan).
Williams suffered a knee injury in the game against the Panthers last night and the initial prognosis is that the injury could be severe. The update hasn't come down yet and is probably not likely until either later this afternoon or Saturday morning, but the Hurricanes are likely fearing the worst.
Williams has 30 points in 36 games this season, which puts him seventh in pool scoring for the team and his production has been crucial at quite a few times this season, as the offense has been sputtering for quite some time now. This could be quite the setback for the team or it could be a good rallying point, as the 'Canes are no stranger to injury.
