The Canadiens finally put Bryan Smolinski (Box 20) on the Injured Reserve with his knee injury. The veteran centre is expected to be out for about 6 weeks.
Smolinski wasn't a big pick on the Selection Sheet... he lost out in the popularity contest to other younger players from Buffalo, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. There's a pretty good chance that this will be his last year on the pool consideration list. His fantasy value has dwindled in recent years, despite having some success in more of a checking role.Technorati Tags
