Reported last night, Jonathan Cheechoo (Peter) will miss the coming week with a groin injury, as he was put on the Injured Reserve. Once you've hit the IR, you have to be on for at least a week and that will have him eligible to return on December 18 and could very well be in the line-up against Anaheim on that Tuesday.
Also hitting the IR for the Sharks was Jeremy Roenick (non-pool). He has a knee knock at the moment and will also sit for at least a week. This isn't the greatest news for Sharks' fans, as Roenick has picked up some of the production that some of the youngsters haven't been able to do for the team.
Speaking of the youth, Matt Carle (Box 5) was also a healthy scratch last night against Minnesota. Carle hasn't really lived up to the big contract he got in the off-season. He joins the long list of disappointments the Sharks have suffered through in this 30-game portion of the season. If the youth had lived up to the billing and Roenick kept his 5 game-winning goals, could you imagine how good they'd be?
