The Islanders are within striking distance of the Atlantic Division lead at the moment, but 20 minutes into the first game after the break, their biggest reason for their success didn't come back for the second period.
Former number one overall selection, Rick DiPietro (Ryan), is having quite the season with 39 points already this season, but an apparent knee injury will hinder his next week or two by the looks of things.
There isn't any concrete word as to the injury as of yet, but reports that the Sherpa has read have indicated a knee injury, which makes sense. He had let in 2 goals on 9 shots last night, but I don't think that would necessarily be enough to be yanked as the solid number one keeper.
The Islanders did win the game 4-3 in overtime, thanks to Wade Dubielewicz (Box 24) and his heroics in overtime.
