Since the injury to Bryan McCabe (Benson), there was a lot of consideration as to who would take his spot on the roster. Right away, it's going to be Anton Stralman (non-pool) for the time being. Stralman is a pretty good prospect for the Leafs, but who they are really waiting for is Carlo Colaiacovo (John P.), who has yet to play a game for the buds.
Colaiacovo was sent down to the Marlies today to start his conditioning after his knee surgery in the off-season. He hasn't progressed in his healing as well as the team would have initially hoped, but now he's starting to feel good enough to start playing again. Now, to get into game shape, he'll spend a week or two with the Marlies before he gets called up for regular action.
The cries of "it's about time" are ringing through the corridors of the ACC.
