Just in case you were looking at the scoresheet for the Avalanche and Ducks and wonder why the Avs didn't get as much offense as they probably should have... well, not only was Joe Sakic (Dennis) in the press box, but Ryan Smyth (Dennis) had joined him.
Smyth woke up with a stiff neck on Wednesday and that was enough to keep him out of the Avs line-up for their first match-up against the improved Ducks line-up. Now, of course, that's quite a bit of talent out of the Avs line-up, but could you imagine what it was like to be Dennis... I mean, that's two of your top picks sitting out in the same game.Well, I don't think Smyth will miss any more games after this one... you're usually okay the next day after a good night's sleep, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. Now, on the other hand... Sakic may return to practice before the week is out, but it's unlikely that he'll play tomorrow night for the Avalanche when they host the Rangers.
