As reported yesterday, the likelihood of the two Canucks seemed very slim that they wouldn't play against Anaheim on Wednesday night. Well, it looks pretty official that they won't be playing on Thursday night in San Jose either.
Roberto Luongo (John B.) will likely also miss the contest in Edmonton on Saturday as well with his rib contusion. Word is that the swelling is still a problem and they are trying their best to have that down before Luongo goes back into the net. In his place, Curtis Sanford (Box 12) looked much better against Anaheim than he did in Los Angeles, but no one has him in the pool, so he really isn't a concern for anyone.
As for Brendan Morrison (Box 7), he will undergo surgery in the coming days to repair his wrist that has been chronically bothering him through the season. His ironman streak has officially ended, which leaves Calgary Flames defender Cory Sarich (non-pool) as the league's leader in that department. There is no timetable for Morrison's return.
