The Oilers are last in the Northwest Division at 13-16-1 and something needed to be done to show the team that they are far from being out of the woods. Both Jarret Stoll (Dennis) and Raffi Torres (Box 8) were scratched against the Blues on Friday night. Obviously, that wasn't going to help the team when they took away two of their leaders... so the Oilers lost 4-3.
Stoll has been struggling this season... only 12 points in 29 games. Torres only has 10. It's something else to point out the struggles, but the Oilers need to possibly do something larger to shake up the team. I am mildly surprised that they didn't go after Mark Recchi (Box 15) at half price. We should assume that the Oilers are going to be the subject of several trade rumours, as they are in dire need of improvement.
