The Red Wings will be a little shorthanded when the Oilers come calling tonight. Part of their top line will have the night off, but since the Wings will be at home tonight, I don't think they will be as worried as they possibly could be.
Tomas Holmstrom (Don) will sit out Thursday night's contest with a bit of a knee problem. Homstrom didn't practice on Wednesday and was listed as doubtful to play.
Holmstrom has 28 points in 30 games for the Wings this season, which is a pretty big hole to fill. The players that may miss Holmstrom the most will more likely be Nicklas Lidstrom (Benson) and Brian Rafalski (Stuart)... their shot from the point need a guy to screen the goalie or pick up the scraps.
