Recchi Thrashin' in Atlanta

It wasn't a big surprise... the chain of events that is. After Mark Recchi (Box 15) was waived, he cleared waivers no problem. Recchi needed to be moved and we all know that he wasn't going to play in the minors. So in order for him to move to another team at a discount rate, he needed to be sent to the minors, only to be called up and try getting picked up by another team at half-price. Fortunately, the Atlanta Thrashers had half his salary to burn and picked him up.
