An undisclosed injury kept Flames forward Niklas Hagman out of the line-up for the team's road game in Atlanta against the Thrashers, but it didn't hurt the overall result for the Flames, as they won 4-2 for their sixth win in a row. There was no word on the extent of the injury to Hagman, so he'll be considered out day-to-day for the time being.
Scoring from Hagman has gone down a fair bit this season, evidenced mainly by his scoring pace. In 2011, Hagman has 23 points (9 goals and 14 assists) in 51 games, giving him a pace of 0.45 points-per-game, down from his 2010 pace of 0.54 points-per-game and his 2009 pace of 0.65 points-per-game. This is not a very good sign for the Flames, who have another year on his deal, nor is it a good sign for poolies out there that are looking for just some steady scoring. Definitely a nasty trend.
It's likely going to be a game-time decision for Hagman going into the Flames' next game, which will be Hagman's last game as a member of Ryan M.'s pool team this year. Ryan has committed to dropping Hagman on Thursday night, which suggests that he'll find an improvement in scoring with a new player in Hagman's place. I would have to agree with that thinking, as a whole.
