The Florida Panthers might be in a pinch of trouble, now that the injury bug has bitten them. On Friday night, the Panthers lost the services of Box 24 forward Chris Higgins to a thumb injury and non-pool forward Rostislav Olesz to a knee injury. The Panthers are falling further and further behind the playoff race at the moment and the loss of two regular forwards could really hurt the team's chances of making that extra push to be a contender.
It hasn't been a great year for Box 9 forward Cody Almond, as he has spent most of the season with the Wild's AHL affiliate in Houston, spent very little time with the big club this year and now has suffered a lower-body injury with the club, so he is on the shelf for yet another reason. I'm really kind of regretting adding him to Box 9 for the Wild, but he was getting some pretty good reviews. To be fair, there hasn't been anyone much better to take that place, possibly Casey Wellman.
