Some Notable Returns

The Red Wings received a little bit of help on Wednesday night against the Senators, as they saw Dan Cleary return to their line-up after missing just over a month with a fractured ankle, which he suffered just after Christmas.  At the time, Cleary was the team's leading goal scorer, having a whale of a year, but hit a massive speed bump with the injury.  He didn't feature in the scoring in a 7-5 game, but that doesn't mean that th team wasn't happy to have him back.

Also happy to have Cleary back was Ryan M., who picked Cleary in the 1st round of the first waiver draft this season, 12th overall.  Cleary won't likely be dropped in the second waiver draft, now that he's healthy, rather he'll help Ryan climb back into a race or two, in all likelihood.

At the end of Week Twelve, when the injury was announced, Ryan was up in 7th place in the standings, only 14 points out of the money, but after a rash of injuries and some cold players, Ryan has fallen down to 16th place, 51 points out of the money.

On Wednesday night, the Edmonton Oilers welcomed the return of Ales Hemsky to their line-up after missing the last couple of weeks with a concussion. It took a little while for the team to finally diagnose the symptoms of the concussion, which could have been a sign of a mild to light concussion. Missing only a couple of weeks isn't too bad for an injury like this, but there likely has to be a certain level of concern of recurrence.

Nevertheless, this comes as good news to Chris M. during waiver draft days, as he won't have to part with the Czech sniper, rather hope that he gets moved at the trade deadline, as per the rumours having him go.

When Hemsky left the Oilers' line-up, Chris was 4 points out of 1st place, 16 points up on 4th, sitting in 3rd place and after Wednesday night's return, Chris continued to be 4 points out of 1st and is 26 points up on 4th, showing that there was a big drop off in competition from behind. The top three teams in the pool are now running away with it.
