The Los Angeles Kings are adjusting their books for the 2012 season, maybe giving themselves a better idea of what they'll have to play with when they are dealing with players with contracts that extend past this season or are looking to trade for and then sign that player later. The Kings got trade deadline day started by signing Justin Williams to a new 4-year, $14.6 million deal, which will work out to be a $3.65 million cap hit.
Williams is finally having that bounce back season that we all knew he had in him, the biggest question mark about him from year-to-year is his health. In the 2011 season, he's played in all 62 games with the Kings, scoring 20 goals and 29 assists, ranking him 57th in pool scoring this year. He's one of the biggest bargains in the hockey pool this season, for sure.
As of right now, I have the Kings with 14 players signed on for the 2012 season at a decent cap hit of $42.6 million.
