It looks as though the Islanders have lost one of their bright young stars to a season-ending surgery procedure.
Chris Campoli (Ryan) underwent shoulder surgery on Tuesday and he will be lost to the Islanders for the rest of the season.
Campoli finished his season with 18 points in 46 games, but Ryan only cashed in on 22 games and 7 of those 18 points. Campoli was picked by Ryan in the first Waiver Draft and will now likely be dropped in the second one.
The Islanders also announced that they extended Freddie Meyer IV (non-pool) contract by another couple seasons. He had impressed the coaching staff enough during the times of when they were reeling with injuries. The contract value was not announced.
