It looks as though Steve Sullivan (Ryan) won't be joining the Predators at any point this season. His doctor in Seattle had told the diminutive centre that he will have to continue rehabbing his back for at least another six months or so, which puts him on the shelf for the rest of the season. He did expect to return in December, but things haven't progressed as much as he would have liked and now the news has put all his plans for a return on hold. He does expect to be ready for the 2008/09 season, which is where you'll likely want to take caution if you are thinking of picking him up in the early part of the season.
For Ryan, his gamble to have him return to form in December has fallen flat and now he'll have to move him in the second Waiver Draft and he'll have sacrificed 20 weeks on a gamble with no pay-off.
