The Dallas Stars were without their top defenseman on Wednesday night versus the Red Wings and it was pretty apparent on the scoresheet by the end of the game.
The Stars ended up losing the game 4-1 to their Central Division rivals, thanks in large part to not having Sergei Zubov (Chris) in their line-up. Zubov, a +7 in 40 games, has been the responsible defender that they pay him his larger salary for all facets of the game. He is listed as out with a hand injury, which doesn't have any more specific details of the injury or the period of time he may be missing.
If the injury is a broken finger, he may only be a week or two (depending on which finger), or if it's a bone in his hand that is broken, it could be upwards of a month. Bruising of the hand may only be a couple of games, so fingers are obviously crossed for the latter, both in the Stars camp and the pool team owners.
