Deep breaths of panic are starting to filter through the Blue Jacket organization and the hockey pools. A mystery illness, well, a mystery to everyone outside of the organization, has hit the Blue Jackets number one goalie and he could be out for some time... or just maybe Tuesday's game.
Pascal Leclaire (Marcus) left Saturday's game against the Sharks after the second period with his mystery illness and didn't return. Leclaire has been picked up 5 times in the Sheet pool, not to mention his high waiver draft pick for Marcus, so there is a great deal of concern for the Blue Jacket goaltender.
In response to this illness, the Blue Jackets have done an emergency recall of World Junior Championship MVP, Steve Mason (non-pool), who had just returned from the Czech Republic on Sunday. With Fredrik Norrena (Box 6) struggling of late, I would imagine that Mason might get to make an immediate impact for the team.
