The Phoenix Coyotes hit the jackpot when they picked up Ilya Bryzgalov (Peter) off of waivers from the Anaheim Ducks this season. Since the Coyotes picked up the goaltender, they have gone 16-11-2 after a 8-10-0 start to the year.
Bryzgalov was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, so the Coyotes locked him up today to a 3-year contract extension that is worth $12.75 million. A jackpot for both sides of sorts.
