The NHL announced that Boston Bruins forward, Marc Savard (John P.), will be replacing Dany Heatley (Jeff) on the Eastern Conference line-up at the All-Star game in 12 days. Heatley was selected to the team last week, but on Saturday had separated his shoulder against Detroit and will now be out of action for the next 6 weeks, including the All-Star Break.
Savard currently has 47 points in 43 games this season, which ranks him in the top 20 among skaters this season. Savard has been a regular in the scoring race for the last few years, despite playing on some pretty poor offensive teams.
The addition of Savard gives John P. a second All-Star at the game and Dale B. still sits without one, despite having a good candidate in Evgeni Malkin (Dale B.).
