YoungStars Rosters

Most of the YoungStars roster were announced on Tuesday, everyone except for the goalies that is. I would imagine that the goalies are a little bit more scarce when it comes to rookies and sophomores. Carey Price (Marcus) is down in the minors, so he won't be an obvious choice for the selection committee. The West is even more scarce, since all the starting goalies and most of the back-ups are all fairly seasoned veterans.

Of the Eastern Conference assumed number ones as of today, only Karri Ramo (non-pool) is under the age of 22 and in his rookie season. The youngest goalie in the Western Conference to play more than 750 minutes this season is Josh Harding (Box 12) for the Minnesota Wild and he's 23. I would assume that these two would likely get the nod for the YoungStars game, due to their age and minutes qualifications.

As you can see, there isn't much representation from the Draft in the YoungStars game this year. Only 5 players have been chosen at one point or another in the Draft this year and still, Dale B. has no representation from his team in Atlanta in 11 days.

With the talented players the West have up front, the 3-on-3 format should be quite the spectacle for Gagner, Kane & Mueller to showcase their hands and their speed. It could get a tad ridiculous.
