In a minor deal on Thursday, the Maple Leafs were able to ship Jiri Tlusty to Carolina for the rights to a 2009 first round pick, Philippe Paradis. Tlusty has been a failed prospect in the Leafs system for a few years now, but will get a new shot at an NHL career in a new NHL city. Paradis hasn't quite had a chance to be a Hurricanes prospect, so there really isn't much we can say about him.
