Jovanovski Handed Two Games

On Wednesday, the NHL handed down a 2-game suspension to Ed Jovanovski of the Phoenix Coyotes for a high hit on Minnesota's Andrew Ebbett on Monday night. Here's a link to the video from NHL.com, where you can see Jovanovski standing Ebbett up at the line, but getting his forearm to the face of the diminutive forward. There was no penalty on the play, but the league has decided for supplementary discipline.

ImplicationsJovanovski is a Draft pick of Clayton's this year and has seen him miss some time due to injury already this season. Another two games worth of rest may help whatever ailed the big defender in the first place.

On the Sheet, Jovanovski is a member of Box 10, where he was taken zero times. His 15 points this season isn't too bad, but he has missed some significant time while scoring at a reasonable pace, but he still ranks 10 points behind Dan Boyle of the Sharks in that box.
