A groin problem sidelined Sidney Crosby for last night's game against the Blackhawks on Saturday night and they could have used him too in the low-scoring affair. Crosby has reportedly been suffering from this minor groin injury for a few games now and it had gotten to the point where he wasn't feeling like he was good enough to go, so he took the night off. He says that the injury is more of a day-to-day issue and that he shouldn't be out of the line-up for very long.
Any short spell is better than a long spell, I guess. Benson, Crosby's Draft owner, doesn't want to see him out of the line-up for very long, especially since he's been so hot in the scoring race of late. Crosby has been Benson's best player in Week Ten, leading the charge there with 6 points in the week. Benson probably sees how tight it is up in for the 2nd and 3rd positions and wants to get in on it. He'll need Crosby back right away for that.
On the Sheet, Crosby was a very popular player in Box 18, taken 35 times. He currently ranks 2nd in the box scoring behind Marian Gaborik of the Rangers, who has 38 points to Crosby's 36.
