Amazingly, this news is already a week old. On November 29, the Sharks decided to send down Jason Demers to the AHL, since most of their regulars were becoming healthy and Demers had cooled off his scoring ways. Demers was one of the more offensive defenders in the league in the early part of the season, picking up all sorts of assists from the top line of the Sharks. He finished his stint in the NHL with one goal and 12 assists in 27 games with the Sharks.
Unfortunately for Clayton, Demers was his only pick in the Waiver Draft, dropping Ron Hainsey in Atlanta. Neither player has picked up any points in the NHL lately, so it doesn't seem like the most terrible situation. Demers managed to get into two games for Clayton since the Waiver Draft, but failed to pick up any points.
