Leighton Demoted

After sticking around the team as a healthy scratch for a little while, it was demotion day for Michael Leighton, who had cleared waivers earlier in the week. With the return of Cam Ward to the line-up and the consistent play of Manny Legace in Ward's absence, Leighton was somewhat forced out of the picture in Carolina's crease, so he'll get some starts and some playing time in the minors for now.

There really is no pool implications, as his Sheet spot was not taken advantage of this season and the Hurricanes were not good enough to have Leighton considered for the Waiver Draft in that pool, so this is more just a point of note, rather than actual pool news.
