Red Wings number two defenseman, Brian Rafalski, left practice on Wednesday, experiencing a sore back and was not in the line-up for Detroit against the Oilers. Rafalski is considered day-to-day with a sore back and he's thought to be questionable for their next game in New Jersey on Saturday.
Rafalski is a Draft pick of the 14th place John P.'s team this season, which has a 13th ranked defense corps, which is somewhat of a telling stat this season. Missing out on Rafalski does hurt his team, but the teams that are chasing him have their own injury problems to sort out.
Rafalski should come as no surprise as one of the leaders in number of picks in Box 11, which he has 11 picks. It does come as a mild surprise that he is in the middle of the pack, when it comes to scoring in that box. Lubomir Visnovsky of the Oilers leads the way in that box, just in case you get the itch to trade.
