The Nashville Predators were without Matthew Lombardi on Thursday night as they took on the St. Louis Blues and the reports are indicating that he missed the game because of an upper-body injury. Lombardi was said to have suffered the injury earlier in the week against the Blackhawks, but there was no indication of how severe the injury is.
In the opening two games of the season, Lombardi has failed to tally on the scoresheet and now with an injury, it might be a little longer before the unrestricted free agent signing makes a real impact with his new club.
I think it's fair to assume that Dale C. is hoping that this injury is minor and Lombardi will be back in the line-up soon, since he is currently sitting in last place in the standings with only 15 points to his name. As you can tell, Lombardi hasn't been the biggest help to his cause in the games that he has played, but no one can get any points if they are on the sidelines hurts.
