The Minnesota Wild open their season in Helsinki today, playing the first game of the NHL regular season, but they will be doing it without one of their top defensemen, as Marek Zidlicky will be up in the press box with a mild groin strain. I think it would be fair to consider Zidlicky out day-to-day for the time being, I would imagine he will be a game-time decision for the team's second affair in the NHL Premiere on Friday as well.
This is a small hit to Derek's draft team, not getting the start that he wants out of Zidlicky, but the Wild will have an extended break after the NHL Premiere games, which should hopefully get him back into shape when they open up their season in North America on the 14th.
Two games isn't a big deal in terms of the selection sheet pool, but being in Box 10 probably means that you have gone elsewhere with your selection in the pool. This is something to consider if you are waiting until the last minute to submit your team.
