The Minnesota Wild are now getting hurt with injuries early on in the season, as both Antti Miettinen and Guillaume Latendresse missed out on Thursday night's action against the Washington Capitals.
Miettinen was thought to be missing the game due to illness, but on Friday, there has been talk that he may have suffered a concussion earlier in the week and could be out indefinitely because of it. Miettinen has had a decent start to the year, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists in the first eight games, but that might be where it stops for a little while.
Latendresse was sidelined with a groin injury and is expected to miss Saturday night's contest against the Blackhawks as well. Otherwise, there really hasn't been any more word on how severe his injury is, but it will take out 6 points in 8 games out of their line-up for at least another contest. Of those 6 points, 3 of them are goals.
Going into Friday night's action, Benson, who owns Miettinen, stands in 2nd place, while Kristy and Don, who has Latendresse, are occupying the 7th spot in the standings. Those are some higher profile teams in the pool who are getting hit by these injuries, so it might start to level out the playing field a little more.
