Predators Lose Suter

After playing only a 1:16 of the 1st period against Calgary, Predators defenseman Ryan Suter was helped off the ice after a collision with the Flames Cory Sarich. Suter left the game with a lower-body injury, which is believed to be the knee, and didn't return.

The collision did look like it was knee-on-knee, but incidental contact with Sarich just finishing his check, but it really didn't look too good for Suter.

Suter is expected to miss some time with this lower-body injury, but early reports say that the coaching staff doesn't believe that the injury is too serious and Suter should be back before too long.

ImplicationsSuter is a 10th round pick of Wes', 200th overall, and he may leave a medium-sized hole in his line-up, if he is out for an extended period of time.  If the injury is minor, then there is very little to worry about, since the defenseman's scoring rate usually flattens out the damage from an injury to a pool line-up.  Wes' defenseman line-up is ranked 12th in the pool with 7 points and doesn't hold much of a buffer between where he is and last place, which is only about 3 points in that category.
