The Devils have reportedly placed defenseman Cory Murphy on waivers on Monday morning, likely to send him down to the minors, but are not terribly concerned about losing him to another team either. Murphy has been a healthy scratch for the club in a good portion of the early season games. He has only played in three games for New Jersey, failing to register a point with the team.
