We're heading into somewhat of a quiet weekend, with only 19 games between Friday and Saturday. We're getting another Sunday off of hockey in this early part of the season, which is strange, since the schedule is already so condensed.
Since it's still really early in the season, the Draft has been a buzz with plenty of movement, up and down. There is a bit of a new look to the money positions for second and third, as both Alan and Dale C. have moved into those positions for the time being. Alan made the jump up from 9th position, so he could be in line for a Mover & Shaker nod this week. But let's not speculate, let's find out who is up for the good awards.
First, we'll kick off with the Player of the Week nods, kinda like we did last week. The Coyotes have had a pretty good week in Week Three, with Ilya Bryzgalov leading the way in the weekly points with 6. Bryzgalov shut out the Sharks on Tuesday to give himself a big boost and will likely get back into the net for the Dogs against the Bruins at home on Saturday. This means good things for Leon in the Draft, for sure. There are also several other players with only 4 points, but I won't spend much time listing them all.
Leading the way in the Mover & Shaker category of mentions is, in fact, Alan, who will go into Friday night's action with 22 points, a pool best. He currently leads Leon by one and Dale C. by two for the week's best tally, the only three who have eclipsed the 20-point mark. Having only three teams at or over the 20-point mark is fewer than what we had in Week Two, but we also have five teams who have failed to get into double digits this week. Scoring is certainly down this week.
Stacey, who has 11 points this week, leads the rest of the Draft with 19 skater games to play this week and he should be getting starts from both of his goalies. That could easily bump him up in the standings by the end of the week.
There's still plenty of movement to be had over the next couple nights... should be fun!
